Enough space for everyone

The layout of Bastide du Cavalon is ideal for family holidays. There is plenty of open space for everyone to gather, and there are many smaller, cozy spaces if you need some peace and quiet. The ground floor is centered around a large open plan living, dining and kitchen area. The living room has large, comfortable sofas around a fireplace. The spacious kitchen has a central island and everything is there to prepare a delicious meal. The dining table is adjacent to the kitchen and can comfortably seat 10 people. The kitchen / dining area opens out to the terraces on both sides of the house, so it is very easy to eat outside.

At one end of the main room is a separate living room with TV and stereo system, as well as a closed fireplace. The TV has English satellite broadcasts, French digital TV and there is a DVD player, stereo and an assortment of music and movies. On the other side of the main room and a few steps down there is a library room with armchairs and a bookcase full of books to read, as well as local guides and maps. There is also a writing desk. It’s a great place to relax and read, or even get some work done when absolutely needed!

The tiled floors and shutters keep it cool in the summer and there are electric fans in the house.

Sleep comfortably

Upstairs there are five spacious bedrooms, suitable for up to 10 people.

There are three bedrooms with double beds (160 cm), two of which are larger bedrooms and these have their own bathroom with shower and sink. The fourth and fifth bedroom have two single beds that can be put together to form a double bed. All five bedrooms open directly onto the landing.

In addition to the two en-suite shower rooms, there is a further separate shower room with a sink, as well as a separate bathroom with a bath with shower and a sink, both located on the upper floor landing. There are two toilets with sinks upstairs and one downstairs for a total of three.

The rent includes linen for all beds. There are towels for each guest, both for the bathrooms and for the pool, as well as bathrobes and hairdryers. There is plenty of storage space in all bedrooms. Cleaning is also included in the rent.

Relax outside

In Bastide du Cavalon there is a lot to enjoy outdoors, whether you want to relax or be active. The heated swimming pool is located on the west side of the house with its own terrace and unobstructed views of the Vaucluse and Mont Ventoux. There is a variety of pool furniture – including sun loungers, sunbeds and umbrellas – and pool towels are provided. The pool is 5 × 10 meters and is available from May to September. The pool is fenced and accessible through a gate.

There are large paved terraces around the house, so you can be outside all day long. On the south side of the house, the terrace overlooks the gardens and fountain and to the north the terrace overlooks the Luberon mountains. Part of the patio is shaded by vines. There are outside tables and chairs and a BBQ. The beautifully landscaped gardens are on the south side of the house and offer total privacy for guests. There are lush grassy terraces, with borders and large shady trees, all with their own automated watering system. At the top of the garden is a ‘secret’ garden with a hammock between the trees – the ideal place for a refreshing afternoon rest. Finally there’s a table tennis table, badminton set and darts board available for some extra entertainment.

Under the main house there is covered parking for three cars plus additional parking outside. There is also a laundry room with two washing machines and a tumble dryer, and an outside washing line. There is also plenty of covered and secured space to store your own bicycles or rental bicycles.

In the low season (the period outside July and August) it is possible to rent the house for 6 people at a lower price. 2 bedrooms will then be closed off.
