Bastide des Espérels has been furnished with all the comfort you would expect at home and more, combining locally sourced pieces and modern luxury. The living areas, kitchen and 4 spacious bedrooms are south facing meaning all guests may open the shutters to the Provençal sunshine. Double doors and windows ensure the views are always in sight.

The 70 sq metre open-plan living and dining room is designed to be cool in summer, with tiled antique, reclaimed terracotta floors, while the thick stone walls and central heating make it super cosy for winter visitors. The sitting room also boasts a welcoming fireplace and wood burner. Lounge on one of the large, feather-filled sofas and help yourself to the books and board games for grown-ups and children alike. For the cooks, adjoining the dining room is a modern, well-equipped, fitted kitchen and utility room where you can prepare dinner with fabulous fresh products from one of the local markets. There is also a large gas BBQ for outside cooking.

Next to the living room is an office space, making remote working possible.

The bedrooms are all spacious, tastefully decorated and in a traditional Provencal style, with airco!

On the first floor you will find 4 bedrooms, of which 2 bedrooms have their own en-suite bathrooms. There is also a family bathroom with bath, shower and toilet and there is a separate toilet on this floor.

There is plenty of space to sit and relax. There is an irrigated lawn area suitable for babies and toddlers.  The 11x5m salt-water pool is heatable and has a large, sloping ‘beach’ area for sunbathing or for small children to splash in. A large, American oak table shaded by a large terrace covering seats 10 persons comfortably for outside dining. There is a table tennis table, pétanque court and a trampoline. At the front side of the house is a large gravelled area which provides plenty of parking space.

Figanières is a beautiful Medieval Provençal settlement sitting at the gateway to the Gorges du Verdon, making Bastide des Espérels the perfect base from which to explore the surrounding areas. Whether you are more at home tasting the fabulous local wine, shopping, exploring the beaches of the Côte d’Azur or rafting, canoeing and cycling, there is something for everyone. There is delicious food to suit all tastes, lively and colourful local markets, cafés and Michelin-starred restaurants. And there are many local vineyards where you can go and taste and buy wine to take home and enjoy. In winter, the ski resorts of the Alpes du Sud are a short drive away. There are natural swimming lakes 15 minutes away at the Gorges de Pennafort. The stunning beaches of the Riviera are easy to reach by car, the two nearest are Sainte Maxime and Fréjus around a 30 minutes’ drive. The perfect place for a family holdiday!
